The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Post : Senior Research Fellow
Applications are invited on plain paper for the post of Senior Research Fellow in the SERB funded project entitled “Universal testing of germline variants in cases of acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome and to study the role of somatic variants in their pathogenesis” under Dr. Pulkit Rastogi, Principal Investigator, Dept. of Hematology as per details given below.

Essential Qualification : Masters (1st Class) in Life Sciences, Human Genomics/Genetics, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology with 2 years JRF Experience and qualified for NET / GATE or any other national level examination conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies/institutions (with valid score).
Desirable : preference will be given to candidate with hands-on experience of molecular biology techniques especially next-generation sequencing and its data analysis.
Upper Age limit : 30 years (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women candidate as per rules).
Remuneration : As per SERB Rules.
Candidates falling short of experience need not to apply. The engagement in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year to be and will be extended on yearly basis depending upon satisfactory performance and co-terminus with the project. The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice OR stipend thereof. Please note that it is not a PGIMER/SERB, N. Delhi appointment and will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position.

The interview will be held on - 04.08.2025 at 2:30 pm in Dept of Hematology, PGIMER, Chandigarh. No separate letters will be sent for interview and no TA/ DA will be paid.
