Vacancy for M.Pharm, M.Sc to work as Junior Research Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology
Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar is one of the eight new IITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country. This institute is committed to providing state-of-the-art technical education in a variety of fields and also for facilitating transmission of knowledge in keeping with latest developments in pedagogy. These two areas of focus will enable students to gain exposure to recent trends in their chosen domains of study and gain practical experience through a wide variety of activities the institute facilitates in its own campus and arranges for in collaboration with industry and other institutes.
Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Department of Biotecnnology (DBT)-funded research project:
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Title of the project: Understanding the role of adipose tissue remodeling in exercise induced insulin sensitivity.
Principal Investigator: Dr. Durba Pal, Assistant Professor, Room 323, CBME, IIT Ropar, Nangal Road, Rupnagar, Punjab-140001
Essential qualifications: M.Sc (Biological science); M.Pharm (Pharmaceutical Sciences); MTech (Biotechnology and Nanotechnology) or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate score (6.5 grade points on a scale of 10). For SC/ST category, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate score (6.0 grade points on a scale of 10) in masters degree. In addition, the candidate must have qualified CSIR/UGC JRF-NET/GPAT/GATE
Age limit: Must not be more than 28 years as on closing date of application (relaxation as per the norms/ orders of GOI).
Salary: As per DBT rules
Duration: Three years or up to the termination of project, subject to annual performance review

Duly completed application form along with candidate’s resume must be mailed or emailed to the PI so as to reach her by Monday, 30 July 2018. Subject of the email should contain “Application for JRF in DBT project”. Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark-sheets and other testimonials must be presented at the time of interview. A set of photocopy of all the testimonials must be submitted at the time of interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The position is available immediately.

Note: The candidate selected for the position of JRF will have the option to register for PhD program at IIT Ropar. However, for admission to PhD program at IIT Ropar, the candidate must meet eligibility requirements and also qualify the written examination and/or interview.
