Job Description
It is the responsibility of the Business development Manager to direct and co-ordinate the sales, marketing and management of the company’s products and/or services by performing the following duties.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Generate new business leads and strategic sales from all geographies for the following.
- NCEs, Intermediates, GMP starting materials.
- Generic APIs Intermediates.

· Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when negotiating contracts and/or bids and building long-term relationships with potential external partners and/or customers.
· Collaborate with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives for the generics market.
· Marketing: Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate advertising and trade promotion programs in coordination with corporate communications team.
· Call on prospective accounts, provide technical and administrative product information, coordinate presentations, and support proposal generation. Prepare client-specific presentations and other data to respond to client needs. Global travel in the range of 50-60% of the time.
· Supervise local customer service and inside sales functions.
· Support management in determining service viability to include: Work with internal teams to translate client needs and expectations in to reality; develop industry knowledge and maintain awareness of industry trends.
· Function independently to influence the decision-making process of potential clients and develop strategies which anticipate client objections or ambivalence.
· Ensure that sales targets are achieved by maintaining sales networking & client development activities using a local and systematic approach to problem solving, priority setting and decision making.
· Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
· Assist the Senior Director, Business Development in identifying market potential by identifying client requirement; defining market, competitors’ share, and competitor’s advantages and weakness; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted company share by maintaining current and historical records of potential customers.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge; establish personal network; and participate in relative business professional conferences/societies.
· Should have experience in risk analysis, be able to work within a multidisciplinary team and develop and implement B2B business development strategies.
· Should be able to present company capabilities to Pharmaceutical/Biotech clientele and close business quotations with tenacity under high conversion.
· Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.

Candidate Profile
· Around 10-15 years of experience in a BDM with a proven ability to plan, develop and execute business development strategies of the following.
- API’s, NCEs, Intermediates, GMP starting materials.
- Generics.

Qualification: Graduation in Chemistry or Pharma/ Post Grad diploma/Master’s degree in marketing
- Person who has traveled in US & Europe markets
- Very good communication skills, client interaction ability at highest levels
- Persuasive, resourceful & confident self-starter
- Goal oriented with good achievement track record
- Aware of regulatory requirements like GMP, GLP, DMF, COS compliance
· Should have strong Technical and regulatory knowledge.
· Strong analytical & problem solving skills.
