SCTIMST Announces Research Opportunities under project funded ICMR for Biochemistry or Chemistry candidates

Post : Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical)

For ICMR funded Project entitled “Validation and in vivo studies of polymer based hybrid biomimetic membrane with osteogenic potential for periodontal guided tissue regeneration” P.8277

Qualification (Essential) : Post Graduate Degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry (any branch)
Desirable : Ph.D or 3 years experience in development of polymeric membranes for periodontal applications. Publications in high impact journals / patents.

Experience (Desirable) : Experience in isolation and culturing of hPDL cells, Electrospinning.

Job description : To carryout research related to material development, in vitro & in vivo characterization.

Age limit as on 01.01.2026 : 35 years
No. of vacancies : Existing – 1 OBC (In the absence of eligible OBC candidates, UR will be considered.)
Duration : Initially for a period upto 29.10.2026, likely to be extended upto 29.10.2028.

Monthly emoluments : Rs.56,000/- + 20% HRA

The applications will be screened and eligible candidates will be called for an Interview to be conducted at the Biomedical Technology Wing of the Institute at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 012. Intimation regarding the schedule of interview will be sent to their email id provided in the ONLINE application form. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Experience wherever prescribed means experience gained AFTER acquiring the prescribed essential qualification.

Eligible candidates are required to apply ONLINE through Institute website (Link given below) and upload scanned copies of certificates to prove age, qualifications, experience and a valid non-creamy layer certificate (for OBC candidates) in the prescribed format applicable for employment in Central Govt. Institutions issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar.

Note : Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of a qualifying nature will be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview. Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.
