The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine, Bangalore is a research institute under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory.
BRIC-inStem invites applications (in online mode) from eligible candidates for the contractual positions in the laboratory of Dr. Arjun Guha, Associate Investigator.
We are looking for dedicated professionals who are responsible for effective management and operation of the BSL-3 facility, ensuring compliance with quality policies, regulatory standards, and institutional requirements. This includes overseeing assigned projects and routine laboratory activities, tracking progress, milestones, and operational challenges, and ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks. The position also involves preparing and maintaining quality documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with mutidiciplinary team, as well as providing guidance and training to project team members and staff as required.

Essential Qualification
i. Postgraduate degree in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Medical Microbiology/ Veterinary Science/ Molecular Biology/ Virology with PhD in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Medical Microbiology/ Molecular Biology /Virology.
ii.Three years of experience in molecular diagnosis of infectious disease, preferably in a biocontainment facility.
Desirable Experience
i. Two years of facility management experience in BSL- 2 or higher biosafety level lab.
ii. Experience in supervising a small/mid-size team.
iii. Experience in diagnostic assay development/ validation studies with hands-on- experience of working with BSL-3 pathogen
iv. Demonstrated commitment toward risk-pathogen testing and management
Tenure: Contractual appointment for Eleven months (11), renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.
