Pharma & Lifesciences openings at National Institute of Plant Genome Research

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up purely temporary position of one Principal Project Associate and one Technical Assistant in the DBT Multi-institutional project entitled “Characterization of chickpea germplasm resource to accelerate genomics-assisted crop improvement”, under mission programme of “Characterization of genetic resources”, under the supervision of Dr. Swarup K. Parida, Scientist, NIPGR. The details are as under:

Principal Project Associate (One post):
Emoluments 49000/- plus 24 % HRA per month.
Upper Age limit: 40 years
Qualification: Candidates having master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural sciences or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or medicine from a recognized university or equivalent with eight years’ experience in Research and Development in industrial and academic institution or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and fulfilling the guidelines/norms of DST/DBT are eligible to apply.
OR
Candidates having doctoral degree in science/engineering/technology/ pharma/ MD/MS from a recognized university or equivalent with four-year experience in Research and Development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and fulfilling the guidelines/norms of DST/DBT are eligible to apply. Candidates having research experience in the area of plant genomics and bioinformatics duly supported with relevant publications will be preferred. The candidate having research experience in the field of plant genetics and molecular breeding is desirable.

Technical Assistant (one Post):
Emoluments: 20000/- plus 24 % HRA per month.
Upper Age limit: 50 years
Qualification: (One post): Candidates having Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences/Plant Science/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology from a recognized university or equivalent with at least 60% marks and having research experience in Molecular Biology Laboratory and fulfilling the guidelines/norms of DST/DBT are eligible to apply. The candidates having research experience in the field of plant genetics, genomics, and molecular breeding is desirable.
OR
Candidates having Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognized university or equivalent with at least 60% marks and having research experience in Computer Application and fulfilling the guidelines/norms of DST/DBT are eligible to apply. The candidates having research experience in any field of computational genomics with computer applications is desirable.

The above positions are purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority.


NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. Eligible candidates may apply by sending soft copy through E-mail in the given format with a cover letter showing interest along with the self-attested soft copies of the mark-sheets, certificates (from Class X onwards), and proof of research experience/publications should be attached with the application.

Incomplete application and lack of supporting educational/experience certificates will be rejected. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.
