During that time with the help and support of Dr. B.C. Roy an eminet physician and then chief minister of West Bengal, the foundation of the present day Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital(CCH) was laid.The hospital was formally inaugurated by Prof. Madam J.Curie in January 2,1950 and named after Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, as a tribute to and in the acknowledgment of the enormous donation of his land and property for the cause.Initially this was a Cancer treatment centre, which gradually expanded its activities in basic and clinical research with the assistance from goverment funding organzations.This eventually led to the founding of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Research Centre (CNCRC),funded by the Goverment of India in 1957, which was committed to basic research on cancer.

Recruitment of one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the ICMR sponsored project entitled “Identification of noninvasive microRNA and proteomic biomarkers in plasma for early detection of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Indian patients” under Dr. Sankhadeep Dutta, Principal Investigator; Dr. Chinmay Kumar Panda and Dr. Bishnupada Chatterjee as Co-Investigators in the Department of Oncogene Regulation, CNCI.

Essential Qualification : First class M.Sc in Biological Sciences / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry with 2 years research experience, or, M.Tech in Biotechnology.

Desirable Qualification : NET (CSIR/UGC) / GATE and publication(s) in peer-reviewed journal.

Experience in functional genomics, molecular and cell biology, proteomics, ELISA; affinity for data analysis and biostatistics; outstanding theoretical and experimental research skills; well-organized and result-driven with a strong team spirit; a strong command of (scientific) English in speech and writing is preferred.

Duration : Initially for 1 year, extendable upto 3 years, subject to annual review of the work done.

Fellowship : Basic pay: Rs. 35,000/- per month plus HRA @ 24% on the basic pay as per ICMR rules.

Age limits : Maximum 35 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement (relaxable for suitable SC/ST/OBC candidate, as per Govt. Rules).

Applicants are requested to appear at walk-in-interview on 03.02.2020 at 11 AM in the CNCI auditorium (5th floor of the research wing) with an application on plain paper addressing Director, CNCI along with complete bio data and other supportive documents pertinent to the post. Candidates should bring the original certificates and testimonials in support of date of birth, educational qualification, experiences, publications, etc. and failing to produce any of the above mentioned documents in original would disqualify the candidate to appear in the interview. Appointment of candidates as Senior Research Fellow in the ad-hoc research project will not bestow any right for regularization to any temporary or permanent post in the institute or elsewhere.
