National Brain Research Centre is a specialized deemed to be university dedicated to research in the frontier areas of neuroscience and brain function in health and disease. Scientists and students of NBRC come from diverse academic backgrounds and use multidisciplinary approaches to understand the complex processes that form the basis of brain mechanisms. Located over a sprawling campus in the foothills of the Aravali range in Manesar, Haryana, NBRC is an autonomous institute of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

Applications are invited for the position of Scientist ‘B’ (Project) under the Dementia Science Programme (Bio-banking) funded by DBT and coordinated by Director, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, Haryana.

Minimum qualification:
1. M. Sc. in Life Science / B. Tech. (Biotechnology) or equivalent degree in life sciences from a recognized University / Institute.
2. Strong academic record matriculation onwards with minimum of 55% marks

Desirable qualification :
1. PhD in life sciences with experience in molecular biology.
2. Experience with bio-banking of samples.
3. Ability to multitask and document the activities of a project.

Mode and duration of appointment : Appointment will be made on contract basis, initially up to 17.12.2020 or the duration of the project, whichever is earlier. Continuation of appointment will depend upon satisfactory performance during the appointment period and validity of the project. The post is co-terminus with the project.

Age limit : 35 years on the closing date of application (22nd January, 2020)

Duties : Scientist B will be involved in bio-baking of samples as part of the Dementia Science Programme (Bio-banking). The responsibilities also include preparing reports etc.

Emoluments : Rs 50,000/- per month (consolidated). with 10% increase every subsequent year. No other allowances / benefits will be admissible.

Accommodation : Accommodation may be provided according to rules of NBRC and subject to availability.

Project Site Principal Investigator : Prof. Shiv Kumar Sharma, NBRC.

Note : No TA/ DA will be payable to the candidates for attending the interview.
