G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development (formerly known as G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment & Development) was established in 1988-89, during the birth centenary year of Bharat Ratna Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, as an autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India, which has been identified as a focal agency to advance scientific knowledge, to evolve integrated management strategies, demonstrate their efficacy for conservation of natural resources, and to ensure environmentally sound development in the entire Indian Himalayan Region (IHR).
Applications are invited for the following purely project/contractual based temporary positions under Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded project entitled "Creating a Genomics platform for Apple research in India Phase-II".
Post : Senior Research Fellow
Emoluments : Rs. 28,000/- pm +HRA for NET qualified or Rs. 14,000/- pm +HRA for non NET personnel
Age* : upto 32 Years
Essential Qualification : First class Master degree in Plant Sciences with two years of research experience
Job description and preference for candidate :
• Conduct intensive research (Field and Lab)
• Assessment of morphological, physiological and biochemical responses selected apple cultivars and developing propagation protocols
• Experience of Plant Physiology, Tissue Culture and Biochemical analysis
