Eligible candidates are invited to apply for walk-in interviews for the following temporary posts on 16.02.2018 to be conducted at ICMR-NITM, Belagavi.
Under the project entitled “Optimising sustainable forest use whilst minimising impacts of emerging zoonotic diseases: co-developing an interdisciplinary tool for forest ecosystems in India” at ICMR - NITM, Belagavi.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: TWO POSTS (Posting at ICMR-NITM, Belagavi)
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Life sciences/ MD (Microbiology / Biochemistry) or equivalent or M.Sc. / M.Pharm/ M.Tech (Biotechnology), with 3 years of experience and at least one paper published in PubMed/SCI indexed journal.
Desirable Qualification: Hands on experience in Field epidemiology, Molecular Biology and Immunological Techniques such as antibodies and cytokine assays, real time PCR and handling pathogenic viruses and insect vectors, especially ticks/mites.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates will be as per Govt. of India norms.
Emoluments: Rs. 38,000/- plus HRA per month fixed.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: ONE POST (Posting at Viral Diagnostic Laboratory, Shimoga)
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Life sciences/ MD (Microbiology / Biochemistry) or equivalent or MSc. /M.Pharm/ M.Tech (Biotechnology), with 3 years of experience and at least one paper published in PubMed/SCI indexed journal.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in the field of Vector borne diseases, Ecology, Geographic Information System (GIS) and field data analysis.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates will be as per Govt. of India norms.
Emoluments: Rs. 38,000/- plus HRA per month fixed.
Under the project entitled “Preclinical evaluation of Safety and Efficacy of the decoction of the plant RMRC-BM IP-156 for Anti-diabetic activity and Characterization of active compound(s)”

Essential Qualifications: 1st Class Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry from a UGC recognized University with NET qualification or 1st Class Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry from a UGC recognized University with 2 years of Post M.Sc. research/industrial experience on Phytochemistry/Natural Product Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry as evident from the published papers in peer reviewed journals.
Desirable Qualification: Post M.Sc. research experience in Phytochemistry/Natural Product Chemistry with handling of relevant instruments and analysis of phytoconstituents along with knowledge of Computer Applications/Data Management.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates as per Govt. of India norms.
Emoluments: Rs. 33,600/- per month fixed.

SRF (BIOCHEMISTRY): ONE POST
Essential Qualifications: 1st Class Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences including Biochemistry from a recognized University with NET qualification or 1stClass Master’s Degree in the above field with 2 years of Post M.Sc. Research/Industrial experience on cell culture/animal modelling as evident from published papers in peer reviewed JCR-indexed journals.
Desirable Qualification: Post M.Sc. research experience in studies of phytoconstituents on cell lines with knowledge of Computer Applications/Data Management.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH Candidates will be as per Govt. of India norms.
Emoluments: Rs. 33,600/- pm (fixed)
Application and selection procedure:
Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are requested to fill their application form downloadable from ICMR-NITM website icmrnitm.res.in with his/her own handwriting and carry the same along with all original documents in support of age, qualification, experience, and category (if applicable).
Applications will be received between 8:30 A.M and 9.30 AM by hand on 16.02.2018 at ICMR- National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi. The candidates are also required to submit a soft copy of the filled in application to director.nitm.bg@gmail.com by 14.02.2018 as prior information of attending interview.
Candidates must report to the Centre on 16.02.2018 by 8.30 AM with all original documents in support of age, qualification, experience and category along with a set of self-attested photocopies and two recent passport size photographs.
Interview will be conducted for the above said posts from 9.30 A.M onwards.
Terms & Conditions:
1. The posts are to be filled up only on purely temporary basis.
2. Research Associate – one post will be stationed at ICMR-NITM, Belagavi and other at Viral Diagnostic Laboratory, Shimoga. Remaining said posts will be stationed at ICMR- National Institute of Traditional, Medicine, Belagavi.
3. Since the posts are purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
4. Benefits of HRA, provident fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. are not applicable.
5. Age relaxation is for SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates will be as per guidelines of competent authority. Age relaxation may be considered for deserving and highly qualified /experienced person on the recommendation of selection committee.
6. No TA/DA etc. will be given to attend the Interview or joining of post and candidate should make his / her own arrangement for stay for the interview and joining of post, if offered.
7. Qualification and experience should be from a reputed and recognized organization.
8. The decision of Director-in-Charge is final in all aspects of recruitment and will be a binding upon.
9. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. Prior information of attending of interview is required by e-mail upto 14.02.2018. No candidate shall be entertained after 9.30 A.M on the interview day.
