Candidates are invited to appear before the selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of One Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the Gates foundation funded project entitled “Development of climate resilient brassica by gene editing”, under the supervision of Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Distinguished Scientist, NIPGR
Post : Senior Research Fellow (One Post)
Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- plus 27% HRA per month as per norms and as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification : Candidates having Masters Degree in Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Plant Science / Life Sciences / Biotechnology or equivalent or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine or Agriculture or related field with 60% marks from a recognized university/institution with at least two years of post-Master’s research experience in related area and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST-OM number: DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/06/2023 are eligible to apply.
Desirable Qualifications : Candidates having research experience in the area of Molecular Biology, Gene Function analysis, Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics, Metabolomics, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Computational Analysis of Multiomics Data and Crop Genetic Improvement and gene-editing will be preferred.
The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The Fellowship/ emolument amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be extended or curtailed on the basis of the assessment of the Candidate’s performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. NIPGR reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found suitable/well qualified by the Selection Committee. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research (BRIC-NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110 067 on March 06, 2026 (Friday) at 11: 00 a.m. onwards along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of the date of birth, educational & experience certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on March 06, 2026. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data in given format and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
Note : Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
