Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata) was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. IISER Kolkata is designed to reach the prestigious position in the global setting that IISc, IIMs and IITs presently enjoy. IISER Kolkata is an autonomous institution awarding its own degrees. The central theme of the IISER Kolkata is to integrate education with research so that undergraduate teaching as well as doctoral and postdoctoral research work could be carried out in symbiosis.

Project title : "Engineering improved siRNA based combinatorial nanotherapeutics for managing metastasis and adaptive resistance in breast cancer treatment".

Funding agency : DBT, Govt. of India.

Emolument : Rs. 25000+30 % HRA

Nature and Duration of Appointment : Applications are invited for a Walk-in interview for Project-JRF position in the group of Dr. Rituparna Sinha Roy, at IISER Kolkata. The position is initially available for six months and could be extended upto 1 year, based on the performance and availability of funds. The duty involves solid phase peptide synthesis, structural characterization and its application in the area of medicinal chemistry, therapeutic biomaterial, cancer biology , regenerative medicine and Computational Biology work/Bioinformatics. 

Minimum Essential Qualification : M.Sc Chemistry having specialization in organic chemistry, or MSc  Chemistry with M.Sc project in the area of organic chemistry or MSc in Life  Sciences having specialization in Computational Biology / Bioinformatics / Biochemistry / Human Physiology / Physiology / Immunology/ Biotechnology / Microbiology / Zoology and having Chemistry as one of the pass subjects. Candidate needs to have strong background in chemistry, especially in peptide chemistry.  Candidates need to have valid NET-LS certificate or DBT-JRF (category B) certificate or GATE certificate or DST-INSPIRE  eligibility  document.

Desirable qualification : Prior experience in peptide synthesis, peptide conformational analysis and experience  about computational work.

Interested candidates are requested to bring an application letter(hardcopy), hardcopy of CV, a brief description of research experience (hardcopy, maximum 1page) and hardcopies of self-attested relevant documents (certificates and marks sheets from Class X, Class XII, BSc, MSc)and a photo-identity proofon the date of interview. Candidates also need to bring valid NET-LS certificate or DBT-JRF (category B) certificate or GATE score card or DST-INSPIRE  eligibility  document.

Conditions : No TA / DA will be provided to the candidate for the interview.
IISER Kolkata Lecture Hall Complex is near Gate No. 7.
