BIT, Mesra is a "Deemed University" under Sec. 3 of the U.G.C. Act 1956. The Board of Governors is responsible for the main functions and overall supervision of activities. It comprises representatives of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the U.G.C., the State Government, The Chancellor, the AICTE, The Hindustan Charity Trust and the Institute Faculty. Shri C.K. Birla is the Chairman of the Board of Governors while the Governor of the state of Jharkhand officiates as the Institute's Chancellor.  There's a Technical Council that decides the academic policy of the Institute.

Applications are invited from eligible Academic & Research Staff of the Institute in the areas of Engineering and Technology, Science, and Management for faculty positions.

The Institute intends to fill up the following posts at Mesra campus and its off-campuses located in India.

Post: Assistant Professor

Pay Band: Rs.15600-39100/-

AGP: Rs. 6000/-

Qualification:
Essential:        
1. A basic degree in pharmacy (B.Pharm).    
2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
3. First Class Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy

Desirable : 
1. Ph.D. Degree in the appropriate branch of Pharmacy 
2. Teaching, Post - doctoral research, industrial and  / or professional
experience in organization(s) of repute. 
3. Published research paper(s) in reputed journal(s), patent(s) filed/obtained, book(s)/chapter(s) in a book(s). 
4. Academic Performance Indicator (API) score on Research and Academic contributions, based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) provided with this advertisement.

Information / Instruction:
1. Before applying, an applicant should read the complete advertisement carefully and ensure that he/she fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria of post stated in the advertisement in all respect as on last date for receipt of online applications i.e.  29.02.2016.
2. The First Class at Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree  (or an equivalent grade) shall be determined as per UGC seven point scale wherever grading system is followed
3. If Class or Division is not declared at the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree levels, an aggregate of minimum 60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is to be considered as equivalent to First Class.
4. In respect of CGPA awarded to the applicants on a Ten-Point Scale, the Table of equivalence shall be provided by the university concerned followed for determining the Class obtained by them as per (3) cited above.
5. The applicants who have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree must ensure that the awarded degree is in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009.
6. The period spent on obtaining the research degree (Ph.D.) shall be considered as the actual period spent on obtaining his/her research Degree, (on production of relevant records) or a maximum of four years, whichever is less.
7. Applicants are required to fill the Academic Performance Indicator (API) score on Research and Academic contributions only in the prescribed proforma based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) provided with this advertisement.
8. The application form in prescribed format must be accompanied with API score card in PBAS proforma, a passport size photograph of applicant, self-attested copies of certificates, marks sheets, experience, research experience, publication(s) etc.
9. To complete the application, separate confidential letters of recommendation are required to be sent by three referees, who are well aware of academic and research credentials of the an applicant. Applicant should request the referees to send the reference letters directly to the Dean (Faculty Affairs) by email to deanfa@bitmesra.ac.in.
10. Applicants will be interviewed only after scrutiny of relevant documents. Eligibility of an applicant with regard to qualification and experience shall be calculated/considered with reference to the last date of the receipt for application.
11. The Institute reserves the right to screen and call only such applicants as are found prima-facie suitable for being considered by the Screening Committee. Thus, merely fulfilling the prescribed conditions will not automatically entitle one to be called for interview.
12. The Institute reserves the right to rectify any discrepancy of this advertisement, if found later on. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of letter of appointment, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.
13. Any corrigendum/ addendum/errata in respect of the above advertisement shall be made available only at our Institute web site www.bitmesra.ac.in. Hence prospective applicants are advised to visit B.I.T. Mesra web site regularly for above purpose.
14. The decision of BIT in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance, rejection of the application form, interview, verification of testimonials and selection will be final and binding on the applicants.
16. An applicant will be responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found at a later date that any information given in the application is incorrect / false the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
17. Interim correspondence will not be entertained or replied to. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from applicants regarding reason for not being called for interview/outcome of interview.
18. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
19. Any dispute will be subject to adjudication by Courts/Tribunals having jurisdiction over Ranchi.
20. The Institute will not be responsible for non-receipt of application(s) within the stipulated date due to any postal delay / loss of application / document sent in transit.
