Post : Research Scientist II (Non Medical)

For ICMR Funded Project entitled “Analysis of TREM2 variants associated with AD in Indian Cohorts and functional assessment of Phagocytic efficiency, Inflammatory Signalling and Metabolic Switch in iPSC derived microglia. ” (P-5506)

Qualification & Experience
First class Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry or in related fields of Biological Sciences, including the integrated PG Degrees, with three years experience in Human iPSC culture and differentiation / human embryonic stem cell culture, genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9), molecular cloning, transfection, immunocytochemistry and imaging techniques. 
OR 
PhD in Biotechnology / Biochemistry with experience in Human iPSC culture and differentiation or human embryonic stem cell culture, genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9), molecular cloning, transfection, immunocytochemistry, and imaging techniques. 
In case, not having candidates with required experience, those with relevant experience in mammalian cell culture, particularly stem cells, will be considered.

Qualification & Experience (Desirable) : Additional experiences, including Sanger sequencing, PCR, and flow cytometry analysis are desirable. The candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational and planning abilities and a proven record of scientific productivity with publications in reputed journals. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team is essential.

Job description : The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and will be involved in conducting laboratory experiments and data analysis. The Project Research Scientist will be responsible for executing experiments involving Sanger sequencing of TREM2 variants in AD samples, generation and characterization of iPSCs from patient derived PBMCs, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and other molecular biology experiments.


Monthly emoluments : Rs. 67,000 + 18% HRA
Age limit as on 01.01.2026 : 40 Years*
Number of vacancies : Existing-1 (EWS-1) (In absence of eligible EWS candidate , eligible UR candidate will be considered) 
Nature / Tenure of appointment : Temporary (Purely on contract), initially for a period till 04.05.2026 (likely to be extended till 04.05.2028) or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Those who fulfil the above requirements may report for Interview, as per the above schedule at the Ground floor of AMCHSS building, along with Bio-data, original certificates and copies of certificates to prove age, qualification and experience at the time of interview. Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS) should be valid and in the prescribed format applicable for employment in Central Government Institutions, issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar.
