The Central University of Punjab, has been established in 2009 along with other new Central Universities by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). Central University has completed a remarkable journey of 13 years. University is accredited ‘A+’ grade in 2023 in second accreditation cycle by NAAC and has secured 95th, 87th and 84th, 81st, 100th and 83rd rank in the year 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively in the University category of NIRF. It is credited with highest per capita research funding.

A Walk-in-Interview for following project position for short term basis will be held :
Title of the Project : “Multiomics approach to decipher the mechanism involved in breast cancer development, progression and development of novel therapeutic strategies”
Funding Agency : DST, New Delhi
Project Duration : 4 years
Emoluments : i) Rs. 35,000+ HRA to scholars who are selected through a. National eligibility tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or b. A selection processthrough National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments (eg. GPAT) Departments and their agencies and Institutions ii) Rs. 28,000 + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above
Term of engagement :
• The initial appointment shall be for a period of one year, which may be extended further based on the candidate’s performance.
• The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
• The engagement shall not be treated as University service. However, the selected candidate will be permitted to register for a Ph.D. at the Central University of Punjab, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria and approval of the competent authority.
Age : Not more than 35 years as on date of the interview (Relaxation in age is permissible for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms)
Essential Qualification : • M.Sc. with atleast 55% Marks in Life Sciences/ Zoology/ Animal Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Human Genetics/ Molecular Medicine/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Chemical Sciences from any from any UGC recognized University/Institute.
• Candidates with CSIR-UGC-NET / GATE / NET- LS / GPAT in Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Chemical Sciences or equivalent will be preferred.
Desirable Qualification : Preference may be given to candidates with good theoretical and/or practical knowledge in the areas of molecular biology/cell culture biology/cancer biology/ Genetics /Animal handling/ Drug and Drug Intermediate Synthesis and Molecular Modeling
Experience Required : Two years’ experience in Research and Development in industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and scientific Activities and services.
Terms and Conditions
1. The above mentioned post(s) is/are purely temporary for limited period or duration of Research Project funded by the funding agency.
2. Applicants shall be required to show the original documents at the time of interaction cum interview and/or joining
3. No T.A/D.A. or any other allowances will be paid for attending the interaction cum interview.
4. The University reserves the right to withdraw this advertisement or increase/decrease the number of posts at any time without assigning any reason.
5. The right is also reserved with the University either to fill or not to fill the vacancies. The decision of Competent Authority of the university in this regard shall be final.
6. Suppression of factual information, supply of fake documents, providing false or misleading information or any other undesirable action by the candidate shall lead to cancellation of his /her candidature. In case, it is detected at any point of time in future even after engagement that the candidate was not eligible as per the prescribed qualification, experience etc. which could not be detected at the time of Test/Interaction cum Interview due to whatever circumstances, his/her engagement shall be liable to be terminated forthwith as per this clause and also based on his/her undertaking
7. The rules and regulations of CUPB and funding agency will be applicable to the selected candidates.
