Applications are invited for the post of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work under the research project entitled “Dissecting the interactome of a chickpea SUMO protease for identifying new SUMO targets and evaluating their roles in improving drought and salinity tolerance in chickpea” funded by Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, Govt. of Gujarat at Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU) under Dr. Vivek Verma. The post is purely temporary and co- terminates with the project.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Minimum Qualifications :
M.Sc / M.Tech / M.Pharm / B.Tech. or equivalent in Biotechnology / Life Sciences and allied areas with a minimum of 55% marks in the preceding qualification.
Desirable Qualifications :
• Candidates who have qualified the CSIR-UGC-NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR- JRF/GATE etc. National-level exams will be preferred.
• Prior experience in molecular biology, such as cloning, protein expression and purification, SDS-PAGE and Western blotting and interests in handling and maintaining plants is desirable.
• Proficiency in scientific writing is desirable
Age Limit : Up to 35 years on closing date of advertisement
Fellowship Duration : Initially for 1 year, extendable on an annual basis for subsequent years (total 3 years or project tenure) subject to satisfactory progress, and financial provisions.
Fellowship : Rs. 36,000/- per month inclusive of HRA (NET/GATE or national-level exam qualified candidates) as per GSBTM, DST, GoG guidelines. OR Rs.23,213/- fixed per month ( For candidates who have not qualified for the national- level-examinations such as NET/GATE) as per GSBTM, DST, GoG guidelines.
Kindly note that mere fulfillment of the eligibility criteria does not qualify the candidate for the interview.
