Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following position.
Post : Senior Research Fellow (01 position)
Project : “Development and Immortalization of Primary Human Middle Ear Epithelial (HMEE) Cells to Elucidate Otitis Media Pathogenesis : A Population-Specific Model” [Advanced Research Grant (ARG) funded by ANRF]
Principal Investigator : Dr. P V Ramchander
Remuneration : Rs. 42,000/- Per month + HRA
Eligibility & Selection : Essential Qualification: M.Sc. or an equivalent qualification in any area of Life Sciences selected through a process described in any one of the following :
a.) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Test- CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship (LS) and GATЕ.
b.) The selection process through National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions, such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
Compulsory : minimum two years of research experience after completion of the M.Sc. degree
Job description & Desired knowledge : Proven hands-on expertise in primary cell isolation from human surgical tissue, extracellular matrix-based culture systems, molecular techniques including immunofluorescence, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, and experience in Cryopreservation/cell banking and cell line authentication/validation assays.
Age Limit : The candidate should be below 32 years in age, as on 21.08.2026. Age relaxation will be granted as per the Government of India norms.
