Institute of Nano Science and Technology Hiring M.Pharm, MSc, MTech candidates

Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the research project funded by ‘Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)’, Government of India at Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.

Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 Post

Project Title : NIR-II active quasi-molecular and plasmonic nanomaterials for bio-imaging and therapy.
Principal Investigator : Dr.Asifkhan Shanavas, Scientist-D
Project duration : Initially one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate and availability of funds.

Job Description : Experience in peptide synthesis, pharmaceutical formulation development, molecular biology, cell culture handling, animal handling, biosensing, drug delivery, neurobiology

Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Chemical sciences/Life sciences OR Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Pharmaceutical chemistry / Natural Products OR M.Tech in Biotechnology / Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Additionally, candidate should have qualified one of the following examinations. (A) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE. (B) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.

Desirable Experience : Prior working experience EITHER in synthetic chemistry OR experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques such as immunohistochemistry, western blotting etc

Age limit : Must not be over 28 years as on 29.08.2025, which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.

Fellowship : Rs. 37,000/- (pm) + HRA (as applicable)

General Terms and Conditions
• The position is purely on a temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds for a maximum of three years/till the completion of the project.
• The position is co-terminus with the project.
• Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria.
• The position is co-terminus with the project.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the time of interview (when interview will take in person).
