Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an apex body in the national forestry research system, has been undertaking the holistic development of forestry research through need based planning, promoting, conducting and coordinating research, education and extension covering all aspects of forestry. The Council deals with the solution based forestry research in tune with the emerging issues in the sector, including global concerns such as climate change, conservation of biological diversity, combating desertification and sustainable management and development of resources.

ICFRE-Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB), Coimbatore invites online application to recruit Research Associate-I / Project Associate-I / Junior Project Fellow / Project Assistant etc., on purely temporary (Contractual) basis for various research projects at ICFRE-IFGTB, Coimbatore.

Research Associate-I
Project Code & Project Title : DBT, Gol Decoding the genomic context for understanding seed recalcitrance and seedling drought response in Shorea robusta
PI : Dr. Modhumita Dasgupta, Scientist-G

Qualification : Essential: Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/ MTech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. The qualifications should be in the area of biological sciences/ bioengineering or any allied/related/ relevant discipline. Desirable: Experience in Project Management/ Monitoring/Planning is desirable.
Fellowship/ Stipend (Rs.) : 58,000/- per month + HRA as admissible.

Project Associate-I

Qualification : Essential: First class M.Sc/M.Tech in Biotechnology/ Plant Science with NET/GATE. Candidates who have gualified national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions like DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, I IT, IISC, USER etc will also be considered. Desirable: Candidates with hands-on experience in working with whole genome seguence datasets will be given preference.
Fellowship/ Stipend (Rs.) : 31,000/- per month + HRA as admissible. Or 25,000/- per month + HRA as admissible.

Project Associate-I
Project Code & Project Title : NMPB, Ministry of Ayush, GOI Selection of disease-free sandalwood phenotypes with high heartwood and oil content from managed plantations and assess the impact of genetic variants on the targeted traits.

Qualification : Essential: First class M.Sc, in Botany/ Plant Science/ Ecology (i) Rs.31000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. (ii) RS.25000/-+HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above. Desirable: Candidates with experience in field will be given preference.

Junior Project / Research Fellow

Or First class M.Sc., in Plant Science/ Forestry/Botany. Desirable: Candidates with hands-on experience in working with sandalwood will be given preference.
