Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following positions under the ICMR project titled “Exploring the pathobiology of brain aging in Indian population: developing a public domain reference atlas and spatial transcriptome facility for aging research”.
Project Research Scientist - I (Non-Medical)
Number of posts : 01
Upper age limit : 35 years
Remuneration : 56,000/- per month + 20% HRA
Eligibility criteria : Essential qualifications 1. First Class Post Graduate Degree including the integrated PG degrees in Life sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaco-informatics, bioinformatics, computational biology and allied sciences.
2. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees with PhD
3. For Engineering/IT/CS – First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years
Desirable qualifications : 3-4 years’ experience after master’s degree in NGS data analysis (RNAseq, Single cell data, Exome / whole genome) using HPC. Expertise in coding and knowledge of R is must
Project Technical Support-III

Upper age limit : 35 years
Remuneration : 28,000/- per month + 20% HRA
Eligibility criteria :
Essential qualifications : 1. 3 years Graduate in Science, Engineering and Technology with 03 years of working experience in biological/chemical laboratory or PG in Science subject.
2. For Engineering/IT/CS – First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years with 03 Years experience
Desirable : Experience in NGS data analysis (RNAseq, Single cell data) with some experience of handling wet lab experiments.
Project Technical Support-II
Number of posts : 01
Upper age limit : 30 years
Remuneration : 20,000/- per month + 20% HRA
Eligibility criteria : Essential qualifications 12th in Science + Diploma (MLT/DMLT/Engineering) with 05 years of working experience in biological/chemical laboratory or PG in Science subject.
Desirable : Experience in collecting and handling patient tissue samples, collecting and managing patient metadata. Knowledge of tissue sectioning and immunohistochemistry will be an added advantage.
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by a interview process. N.B.: The list of shortlisted candidates' names and the date of the interview will be published on the ILS website.
All the positions are purely temporary and coterminous with the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
