The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.
Applications are invited for one post of SRF (01) sanctioned under DST project “Biomedical Instruments and Devices Hub - A Center for Innovation, Design and Clinical Validation”. The post will be initially filled up for three months but can be further extended depending on the performance and work capabilities of the selected candidate.
Post : Senior Research Fellow (One Position)
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi is a nodal agency established by the Government of India and connects the science sector to the government verticals. It not only develops science and technology policies but also strengthens human resources and institutional capacities. In this regard ‘ Biomedical Instruments and Devices Hub - A Center for Innovation, Design and Clinical validation” has been approved by DST and set up at PGIMER, Chandigarh. The HUB has facilities for (i) Biomedical Instruments/Devices testing/ Calibration (ii) Development of indigenously developed devices/instruments and (iv) Training/teaching activities related to biomedical instrumentation and related innovation.
Qualification and Experience : -
• Postgraduate degree in basic science OR Graduate / Postgraduate degree in professional course with any one of the below-mentioned:
a National Eligibility Test (NET) CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE,
b. National level examination conducted by Central Government Department and its agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, MSc, USER, etc.
• Minimum 2 years of research experience
• The candidate should be less than 35 years of age
Desirable : -
• Strong Statistical skills are of advantage
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good communication Skills
• Computer skills & knowledge
Duties & Key Responsibilities
• Undertaking relevant research
• Providing centralized assistance for all the projects initiated by the HUB
• Writing reports and documentation
• Any other duties assigned by Principal Investigator or management team
Other Requirements
• Fully flexible, able to participate in a 365-days-per-yearrota including evening and weekend work
Salary : -
• Fixed @ Rs. 35,000/- per month/ (Plus HRA as per rules)
• Fixed @ Rs. 28,000/- per month/ (Plus HRA as per rules) for those who do not have CSIR-UGC NET/GATE certificate
