National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences is a multidisciplinary Institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. The Lunatic Asylum which came into being in the latter part of the 19th Century was renamed as Mental Hospital in 1925 by the erstwhile Government of Mysore.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates, for the post of post of “Senior Research Fellow” (SRF) on contract basis for the ICMR funded project entitled “Cell-free therapeutic approach to Parkinson’s disease using exosomes of human dental pulp stem cells as drug delivery tool through intranasal route” – under the guidance of Dr. Indrani Datta, Associate Professor of Biophysics & Principal Investigator.

Essential Qualification
M.Pharm, MTech or M.Sc degree in any field of science/life science /biophysics/ physiology/ biochemistry/ Zoology with a good academic record. Two years research experience after Master degree. Candidates with fellowships will be preferred
Desirable experience
Experience in animal handling, pharmacology, eukaryotic cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry will be required.
Nature of work : The project covers extensively on generation of rat PD model, rat behavioral tests, ultracentrifugation, stem cell culture, small animal in vivo NIR imaging, Live-cell imaging and flow cytometry techniques in detecting functional parameters (intracellular calcium, engulfment) of neuronal cells, protein and gene expression studies.
Maximum Age Limit : 35 Years, Age relaxation will be given for suitable candidates.
Salary : Rs.35,000/- + 24% HRA P.M
Duration of the Project : 3 years Initial appointment will be made for a period of six months and will be extended further depending upon the performance of the candidate.
