Job for Scientist in Incharge, Mass Spectrometry Facility at InStem
The mass spectrometry facility is a core facility for scientists of the Bangalore Life Sciences Cluster (BLiSc) that includes inStem and the National Centre for Biological Science (NCBS) and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms which share a campus and research facilities. The facility comprises laboratories situated within the BLiSc campus. It provides services and training to a range of users. This position involves management and coordination of operations of the mass spectrometry facility. The head of the facility is expected to lead a team of staff whose work includes the maintenance of a facility with several state-of-the-art mass spectrometers and associated equipment. The role requires providing technical input into user projects, managing staff and work flow as well as the development and implementation of research grade experimental techniques using mass spectrometry. Training programs and outreach activities are encouraged.

Eligibility & Essential qualifications:
• PhD in life sciences or other allied sciences.
• Candidates should possess a track record of research accomplishments including demonstrable evidence of strong technical expertise in mass spectrometry.
Desirable qualifications :
• 5-years experience of accomplishment in any branch of mass spectrometry (proteomics, small molecule analysis)
• Experience in managing the work and output of a team of individuals
Age Limit : Below 45 years.

Scale of pay : PB-3 (Rs. 15600-39100) with GP 7600 (Level 12 of 7th CPC)
Nature of Appointment : Direct Recruitment with probation for 2 years.
