Duties
This position is located at National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Office of Clinical Site Oversight (OCSO), within the Pharmaceutical Affairs Branch (PAB).

Responsibilities

  • Independently advise, interface and participate with physicians in the design of complex drug treatment plans.
  • Design drug regimens utilizing current pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles and specific patient parameters.
  • Serve as expert consultant to in-house committees for selection and evaluation of drugs for formulary listing; proactively bring new pharmacotherapy advances to in-house committees and make recommendations for inclusion in the formulary.
  • Serve as technical authority and resource with direct interaction with patients to independently obtain complete drug histories.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient?s response to drug therapy and recommend modifications.
  • Serve as pharmacy liaison with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other staff to resolve any drug related problems.
  • Conceive, design and conduct clinical research within specialty area of clinical practice as principal investigator.

Candidate Profile
A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. All applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
