Recruitment for the Bio-NEST NIPER-Guwahati Incubation Centre

NIPER-Guwahati is the only National Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the entire North Eastern Region of our country. It was established in the year 2008 to provide high-quality pharmaceutical education and research with a focus on the exploitation of natural and synthetic products of this region for drug discovery and development.

NIPER-Guwahati received approval from the Government of India for the establishment of the Incubation Center named Bio-NEST NIPER-Guwahati (North-Eastern Societal aspect for Translational Phytopharmaceutical/ Herbal Research). The centre is funded by BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, under the Bio-NEST (Bioincubator Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technology) Scheme. The Bio-NEST NIPER-Guwahati Incubation Centre is operated and managed by NIPER-Guwahati.

Qualifications and Experience : Essential: Doctorate in Life Sciences or allied sciences from a recognized University with at least 10 years’ experience (excluding the Ph.D. tenure, if any) in at least 2-3 sectors, including Industry, CRO, Technology Business Incubators, Start-ups, Innovation Management, or Academic / Research organizations. Or, Master's Degree in Business Management from a recognized University with 15 years' managerial experience in at least 2-3 sectors including Industry, CRO, Technology Business Incubators, Start-ups, Venture Capital Firms in Technology Sectors, Innovation Management. Experience in articulating incubation policy documents, knowledge of start-up and entrepreneur ecosystem, proactive networking with industry, incubation center, and mentoring for routine operations. Desirable: Ph.D. in Life Sciences/ Allied Areas is preferable. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working at Science and Technology-driven start-up incubators.

Max. Age limit : 45 years (age limits are further relaxable for reserved categories as per GoI norms)

General Instructions
1. Candidates of Indian Nationality can only apply for this post.
2. Interested candidates are invited to apply using the prescribed format only, available on the website (niperguwahati.ac.in) from 11:00 AM on 30.04.2026 to 5:00 PM on 15.05.2026. It is mandatory to fill out the application online, and no other form of application will be entertained. Candidates are requested to arrange the soft copies of all the required documents before filling out the application.
3. Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age, and eligibility, experience criteria, etc., laid down in the advertisement before applying for the above post. Since all the applications will be screened on the basis of data submitted by the candidate in the online application form, the candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage during the recruitment and selection process, it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature will be rejected.
4. Application once submitted cannot be altered/resubmitted under any circumstances. Further, no request with respect to making changes in any data/ particular entered by the candidate in the application will be entertained, once the application is submitted successfully.
5. Incomplete applications or those without relevant supporting documents (self-attested copies of Date of birth/Degrees/Certificates/ Mark sheets/Experience Certificates/documents, etc.) will be rejected.
6. Candidates employed in Government Organizations (e.g., CFTIs, Autonomous Institutions, Universities, etc.) must apply through the proper channel; or produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview; If selected, they must produce a Relieving Letter at the time of reporting for duty. Such candidates may send advance applications, but if found eligible and shortlisted, they would be allowed to take part in the selection process only if the application is received through the proper channel and/or a No Objection Certificate is produced on or before the interview date.
7. On the recommendation of the Screening/Selection Committee, the competent authority may relax all or any of the requirements related to age and experience in exceptionally meritorious cases.

8. Fulfilment of qualifications and experience is an essential requirement. As stated, the Institute is free to set the benchmark and call only the eligible candidates for the further recruitment process. Further, NIPER Guwahati also reserves the right NOT to fill any of the posts advertised in the event or exigency so decided.
9. In case any dispute arises on account of the interpretation of clauses in any version of this Advertisement other than English, the English version available on the NIPER-G Website shall prevail.
10. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM MAY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF THE CANDIDATE.
11. All appointments shall be on a contract of one year or less if the project is terminated earlier. The appointments are against the temporary project positions and will not continue in any circumstances beyond the duration of the said project. Any subsequent contract in the project or another project will be a fresh appointment. The appointment in the outside-funded project does not give project staff any claim whatsoever for appointment/regularization against any Institute post.
12. Age will be calculated as on the last date of application, i.e., 15.05.2026.
13. The list of the Shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the Institute website.
