Our lab integrates machine learning, structural biology, and chemical biology to identify novel drug-binding sites across challenging protein targets. The successful candidate will play a central role in translating computational predictions into experimentally validated protein targets and ligand interactions.
The lab is currently building new capabilities in protein production, biophysical assays, and chemical proteomics, and the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to establishing experimental workflows and shaping research directions.
Seeking a highly motivated PhD student in biochemistry, molecular biology, or biophysics to experimentally validate therapeutic targets emerging from our AI-driven discovery platforms.
Responsibilities
• Express and purify recombinant proteins, including challenging and poorly characterized targets
• Design and perform biochemical and biophysical assays to study protein–ligand interactions (e.g., FP, DSF)
• Support validation of ML-predicted binding sites and targets
• Contribute to chemical proteomics workflows
• Collaborate with computational and chemistry teams in iterative design–make–test cycles
• Contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and collaborative projects
Qualifications
Required :
• MSc or BSc in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with protein expression and purification
• Strong interest in drug discovery and protein structure–function relationships
Preferred :
• Experience with binding assays (e.g., fluorescence polarization, DSF)
• Familiarity with structural biology techniques
• Exposure to interdisciplinary research environments
Why Join Our Lab
• Work at the interface of AI, protein science, and chemical biology
• Contribute to experimental validation of novel therapeutic targets
• Collaborate with computational scientists and chemists
