Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of “Project Research Scientist -I (Non- Medical)” on a contract basis for the project entitled “Exploring DNA Methylome Signatures in Drug-free Schizophrenia and Development of an AI-Driven Cardio-Metabolic Risk Prediction Tool on Antipsychotic Treatment Using DNA Methylome Biomarkers” funded by ICMR. under, Dr. K. Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in M.Sc. Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Medical Biochemistry / Neurosciences /Biological Sciences / Life Sciences / Biomedical Sciences, including the integrated PG Degree in these disciplines

Desirable Qualification : PhD in Neurochemistry / Neurosciences / Life Sciences / Biotechnology or equivalent

Essential Experience : 1-2 years of Research experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS)/ NGS library preparation/relevant Molecular biology techniques

Desirable Experience : Hands-on experience in genomic DNA isolation from human samples (blood/plasma/buffy coat); Experience in NGS library preparation: Familiarity with NGS platforms (Illumina/MGI/ONT) and sequencing workflows. Strong understanding of library QC: Bioanalyzer / Tape Station profiles. Qubit / Nanodrop quantification; Bioinformatics & Computational Skills - NGS data analysis pipelines, Proficiency in R / Python / Linux environment.

Emoluments / Salary : Rs. 56000/- + 30% HRA
Maximum Age Limit : 35 Years
Duration of Project : 3 years
Duration of Post : Initial Appointment will be made for a period of 6 months and renewable every 6 months based on performance of the candidate till the end of the project

• Candidates currently working on Extramural/Intramural projects at NIMHANS must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Principal Investigator.
• The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% in the written examination (Whenever written examination is indicated) to qualify for the skill test/interview. For Direct Interview the candidate should score at least 50% Marks in the interview.
• The Institute reserves the right to select a suitable candidate. Possession of the prescribed essential qualifications alone does not guarantee selection.
