NIPER Invites Applications from Pharma, Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry candidates

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the following temporary position under the project entitled “Development of Novel Methods for Sustainable Organic Synthesis Using Sulfonium Salts and Their Application in Bioactive Molecule Synthesis” (GP-499) sponsored by Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ARG_2025_002717_CS) under the supervision of Dr. Srimanta Manna, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology (Process Chemistry), NIPER-SAS Nagar. This position is purely on temporary basis initially for a period of 01 year, extendable on yearly basis on the satisfactory performance of the candidate for a maximum period of 3 (three) years, and is co- terminus with the duration of the project.

Remunerations : i. Rs. 37,000/- p.m. plus HRA, as admissible to scholars who selected through (a) National Eligibility Test- CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions. ii. Rs. 30,000/- p.m. plus HRA, as admissible for others, who do not fall under (i) above (As per ANRF rules).

Essential Qualification : Post Graduate (PG) degree (including the integrated PG degrees) such as M.Sc. in Organic and inorganic Chemistry or MS (Pharm.) / M. Pharm. / M. Tech. with Process Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry with organic synthesis.

Desirable Qualification : Candidates having experience in organic synthesis, characterization of compounds, catalytic reaction, and column purification, previous experience in synthetic organic chemistry will be given preference.

Roles and Responsibilities : The Junior Research Fellow will be responsible for (a) Conducting research and experiments in assigned projects under the guidance of Dr. Manna (b) analyzing data and preparing technical reports and manuscript drafts, (c) Collaborating with team members for ongoing and future projects and (d) Assisting in the development and implementation of innovative solutions in chemistry and related fields.

The engagement is full time and purely on temporary basis for all intent and purposes for an initial period of 01 year, which may be extended on yearly basis on the satisfactory performance of the candidate for a maximum period of 3 (three) years, and is co-terminus with the duration of the project

• The selected candidate shall be allowed to register for Ph. D. programme as per the rules and regulations of the Institute.
• The selection will be based on the interview. The interviews will be held in hybrid mode (i.e. in person at NIPER-SAS Nagar and online). Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. • Last date of receipt of application form/Soft Copy of application form through e-mail is 08.05.2026 (Friday) by 05:00 pm. Hard copy of application form can be submitted through Speed Post/Registered Post/Courier/By Hand on or before 08.05.2026 (Friday). • Candidates are required to attach the valid proof of deposit of the prescribed application fee, wherever applicable, with the application form. The application form received without valid proof of deposit of the prescribed application fee will be summarily rejected and no representation/request shall be entertained in this regard.
• Candidates with incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (i.e. self-attested copies of degree / certificates / marks sheets / experience certificate/ reprint of important publications, without photographs, signatures and prescribed fee) will not be interviewed.
• The candidature will be considered as invalid, ab-initio, in case he/she does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. Candidate should satisfy himself/herself regarding the possession of required qualification, age, experience, etc., as stipulated above, as on the last date of receipt of application, before appearing in on-line interview, if shortlisted.
• Since, the interviews will be conducted through on-line mode, therefore, the joining of the selected candidate will be subject to verification of educational and experience certificates, testimonials, etc. from the originals at the time of joining.
• Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time.
• The process of selection may include presentation and/or interview or any other process as decided by the competent authority. • The Institute reserves the right to withdraw advertised position at any time without assigning any reason. Institute also reserves the right to fill or not to fill position and its decision in this regard shall be final.
