Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work under the research project entitled “Utilizing chickpea PGIP engineering to bypass effector recognition for enhancing resistance against Botrytis cinerea” funded by ANRF-ARG, Government of India, at Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU) under Dr. Vivek Verma. The post is purely temporary and co- terminates with the project.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Minimum Qualifications : M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.Pharm./ B.Tech. or equivalent in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences and allied areas with a minimum of 55% marks in the preceding qualification. Students completed their Master’s but waiting for the result can also apply.
Desirable Qualifications :
• Candidates who have qualified the CSIR-UGC-NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR- JRF/GATE etc. National-level exams will be preferred.
• Prior experience in molecular biology, such as cloning, protein expression and purification, SDS-PAGE and Western blotting and interests in handling and maintaining plants is desirable.
• Proficiency in scientific writing is desirable.
Age Limit : Up to 35 years on closing date of advertisement
Fellowship Duration : Initially for 1 year, extendable on an annual basis for subsequent years (total 3 years or project tenure) subject to satisfactory progress, and financial provisions.
Fellowship : Rs. 37,000/- + 8800/- (24% HRA per month) (NET/GATE or national-level exam qualified candidates).
Kindly note that mere fulfillment of the eligibility criteria does not qualify the candidate for the interview.
