CMRG Fellowship for Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology at NCNSNT

National Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NCNSNT) is supported by MHRD Grant through UGC and also supported by grants from Government of Tamil Nadu. It was established in 2006. MHRD has given a special grant of Rupees 100 Crores to establish this center in commemoration of its 150th y Year celebration. Tamil Nadu Government also granted Rupees 5 crores as a seed grant for initiating the program on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in the University. M.Sc/M.Tech (dual program) has been started during 2007 as suggested by the advisory board. 

Post : Project Assistant

Applications are invited for the post of Project Assistant to work in the CMRG funded project entitled “Self-assembled hemagglutinin mimetic peptide spike nanovaccine for cross-protective immunity against pneumonia” under the supervision of Dr. M. Jeyaraj, Assistant Professor, National Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, University of Madras, Guindy Campus, Chennai- 600025.

Fellowship period : Three years 

Fellowship : Rs. 25,000/- per month consolidated 

Eligibility : M.Sc./M.Tech in Nanotechnology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Biomedical Science/Microbiology with consistently good academic record and a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Master’s degree. (Students in final year of M.Sc./M.Tech can also apply). 

Desirable Qualifications : Hands on experience in Nanomaterial Synthesis, Cell Culture and Immunological Assay techniques.

The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview; the interview details will be communicated via email. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to register for the Ph.D. program in the National Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, University of Madras, Guindy Campus, Chennai-600025.
