The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963.

A Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) is required in the research project entitled, “Diagnostic trial of novel in-house developed Circulating Tumor Cells detection technique for Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma” funded by ICMR, New Delhi, in Department of Biochemistry, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Qualifications : Essential: 1. Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees 2. For Engineering / IT / CS - Four Years Graduate Degree.
Desirable : 1. Experience in cancer biology, cell biology and molecular biology at least 2 years from a recognized institute/research lab Or 2. PhD in life sciences
Consolidated remuneration per month (Rs) : 56000/- + HRA, as admissible
Upper age limit : 35 Years
