The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM ) is established as an autonomous instit ute of national importance in 1959 by the Government of India with an initial technical and financial support from Germany. IIT Madras with a number of well equipped laboratories, advanced research facilities, sophisticated services and computing and networking capabilities, is recognized to have done exceedingly well in the fields of higher technical education, research and industrial consultancy.

Post : Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited for temporary post of "Junior Research Fellow" for the "DBT-BioCARe" project (Project# BIO1718301DBTXDKAR/R55293) on “miRNA profiling and alteration of signaling pathways following curcumin and emodin treatment in cervical cancer cell lines.’’ in the Department of Biotechnology.

Duration: The duration of the project is three years. The selected candidate will be initially given an appointment for a period of one year and can be extended based on the performance.

Qualification
MSc./M. Tech In Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Life Sciences/ with CSIR, UGC NET/BET/GATE/GPAT/ICMR/JEST qualification

Desirable experience: Previous experience in Tissue culture / RNA isolation/Real time RT-PCR/ Microarray data analysis.

Pay Range
Rs.25,000/-p.m +HRA as per the institute norms

Note: Candidate will be eligible for House Rent Allowances as per the Institute Norms, subject to eligibility. The Co-ordinator has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications that are higher than the minimum prescribed in the announcement.
