Medicinal Chemistry

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first Institute of its kind to be set up at in the State of Bihar in the year 2007. It is an autonomous institution of national importance, established under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India under NIPER Act 1998 at Hajipur in Vaishali District of Bihar.

CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) is a premier multidisciplinary research institute of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India with its major focus on exploiting the potential of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) by cultivation, bioprospection, chemical characterization, extraction, and formulation of bioactive phytomolecules.

One of the oldest Universities in India, the Panjab University (PU) initiated at Lahore in 1882, has a long tradition of pursuing excellence in teaching and research in science and technology, humanities, social sciences, performing arts and sports. NIPER Ahmedabad was initiated with three specializations Biotechnology, Natural Products and Pharmaceutics and over the period of time three more specializations Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology and Toxicology were added in 2010. Subsequently in 2011, to cater the needs of Medical device industry in India, another feather was added to the cap of NIPER Ahmedabad in the form of specialization in Medical Devices.

BITS Pilani is a Deemed to be University, offering on-campus programs to more than 17,500 students across its campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai. It has been recognized as an Institute of Eminence by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in 2020. The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
