In 1981, Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) established Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) to meet the growing demand for management education. In 2003, NMIMS was declared a deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The Vision of the University is to be a globally admired University by 2030. The Mission of NMIMS is to emerge as a Centre of Excellence, best in class in India and Asia and yearning to be the best in the world by 2030.

With the legacy of 38 years, NMIMS has grown to being not only one of the top-10 B-schools in India but also emerged as a multi-disciplinary, multi-campus University at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Indore, Shirpur, Dhule, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chandigarh and eighteen constituent schools that include Management, Family Business, Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, Commerce, Economics, Law, Science, Liberal Arts, Design, Performing Arts, Branding & Advertising, Mathematical Science, Hospitality, Agriculture, Distance Learning and Aviation. In addition, we have nine Centres of Excellence as well at the University.  Today more than 15000+ students and 750+ full time faculty members are part of India's most sought after academic community.

Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPPSPTM), established under the auspices of SVKM’S NMIMS in 2006 is a pharmacy school which offers Doctoral, Postgraduate, Graduate and Diploma Programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences. It pioneers in postgraduate and graduate courses integrated with Healthcare Management. The curricula designed by the school nurtures and develops young minds into responsible Pharma professionals who will contribute ethically to the future of Pharma Industry, Hospitals, Community, Society and Health-care system at large.

Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPPSPTM) was founded in 2006 with a vision to serve the healthcare system of our country. The courses are tailor-made to fulfill the requirements of the growing Pharma Industry & are reviewed regularly in consultation with our Board of Studies, which comprises people from Pharma Industry, Research, FDA and top academicians from all over India.Over the years, SPPSPTM has made significant inroads in the sphere of pharmaceutical education and research, achieved by outstanding student participation in various activities ably supported by highly qualified and motivated faculty and a world-class infrastructure.
