Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established under an Act passed by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in July, 1998.

Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy was established in 1993 in remembrance of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Ji, the elder two sons of tenth Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The college is managed by ‘Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College, Bela’ society through a Managing committee established in 1975.

A flagship post-graduate college of pharmacy under the aegis of CT Group of Institutions, an established multi-faculty educational group in Jalandhar (Punjab), having seventeen professional institutions offering 45+ U.G., P.G. & Diploma programmes in its two well-facilitated campuses efficaciously providing quality education as well as ideal environment for studies.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.

The Institute has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by Government of India through an Act of Parliament. The Institute is a member of the Association of Indian Univerities.

The CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) is a constituent R&D establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) devoted to research in the frontline areas of Microbial Biology and Biotechnology.

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous Institute under Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. NABI aims at catalysing the transformation of Agri-food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security.
