Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology, IASST, is a premier scientific research organization in the north-east region, conceived and nurtured by the Assam Science Society in its initial years and was inaugurated by Nobel Laureate Dorothy C. Hodgkin on 3rd November 1979. Subsequently, it was supported by the state govt. as its only autonomous R&D institute till March 2009. The institute was taken over in March, 2009 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India as one of its autonomous R&D institute.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.

As per the extant instructions of Railway Board New Delhi vide letter No.E(NG)ll/2005/RG- 4/SC/2 dated 28.03.2020 and l:(NG)l I/2005/RC-4/SC/2 Pt.I, dated 30.03.2021 and 30.04.2021, Lumding Division/N.F. Railway hits decided to hire the additional Paramedical Staff in Group C on contract basis under Lumding Railway Division/NFR for a period up to 31.03.2022 including Sunday from the dale of such engagement, which may he extended till the situation is contained.
