Swachhata Pakhwada 2023 - Fortnightly Awareness Drive on Cleanliness at IIHMR University

'Hygiene and Health'' is a pressing issue, especially in countries like India. The main objective of Swachhata Pakhawada programme is to spread information and awareness about hygiene and health to the vulnerable community with the help of the young generation. Moreover, this programme emphasizes a series of standard and professional activities like Campaigns and Capacity Building Workshops, to build health awareness and encourage hygiene practices. At the primary stage, IIHMR University is engaging students to organize awareness campaigns.

IIHMR University believes that Children and youth play a vital role in changing this world into a better place with their determination and courage. Dr. P R Sodani, President IIHMR University inaugurated the Swachhata Pakhawada programme on 01st September 2023. Dr. Goutam Sadhu shared the contributions of IIHMR University to WASH and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and  Dr. Himadri Sinha Dean SDS, shared the significance of the Swachhata Pakhawada programme.

In this series on 02nd September an awareness drive was carried out at the Kanota Higher Secondary Government School in Bassi Block for explaining the importance of hygiene and cleanliness to the rural school children. Dr. Ratna Verma explained the importance of hand sanitation to the students.

Nukad Nattak on the theme of WASH was being shown to the students and with the help of it, Dr. Kajal Sitlani explained the importance of keeping the surroundings clean.  An oath was being taken at the end of the session by the children to keep their surroundings clean and take care of the hygiene habits.
