The Cabinet of the Union has approved a Memorandum of Understanding between India and Australia on cooperation in the field of communicable diseases and mental health. The MoU will involve cooperation through joint initiatives in the health sector and strengthen bilateral ties between India and Australia.

The agreement will also help strengthen cooperation on antimicrobial resistance and respond to public health emergencies and the regulation of pharmaceuticals, vaccines and medical devices, digital health and Tobacco control.

The Memorandum of Understanding will provide a platform for Indian Railways to interact and share the latest developments and knowledge in the rail sector to promote safety, efficiency and sustainability.

 

The cabinate was also informed of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane of Italy in January on technical cooperation in the railway
