FSSAI get online access to 70,000 food standards in more than 170 countries

Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) a conclusion without agreement with the US company Decernis, which helps it access the database of more than 70,000 standards for food additives, food standards, Food and contaminants from more than 170 countries, said the organization in a statement.

As part of this agreement, Decernis will integrate India's preliminary and final standards into its systems to improve user understanding and compliance.

According to the FSSAI, this database will facilitate the standard-setting process as the system will provide a unique platform for seeking international regulations that will allow scientific panels to understand global standards and also assess Indian International standards.

 

Regarding this development, Pawan Agarwal, CEO of the FSSAI, said: "In accordance with good regulatory practice, international practices must be taken into account in the context of national standards or guidelines. This module would help the ISSAI to access various regulations and practices followed globally, "said Pawan Agarwal, CEO of FSSAI.

FSSAI will also assist in occasional client questions regarding the regulations of food standards, food additives, food contact substances, contaminants and pesticide residues.
