The Mankind Pharma has taken an initiative to spread awareness about the importance of having strong bones, among the masses. The company has been championing this cause with their specialized ‘D3 Must Campaign’ across the country by reaching out to various schools, institutes and corporates.

The company has conducted more than 250 awareness camps ‘D3 Must’. Mankind is highlighting the hazardous effects of insufficient levels of vitamin D3 on one’s health. Through a presentation and interactive sessions, the factors to stall the deficiency besides myths and misconception associated with the same were shared.

The latest World Health Organisation (WHO) study revealed that a whopping 69 per cent of Indians suffer from vitamin D deficiency, while a further 15 per cent were found to be vitamin D insufficient. In fact, seven out of 10 people who are screened for the deficiency are found to have it. With long working hours and no time for outdoor activities, more and more people are suffering from vitamin D deficiency.

In an attempt to avoid sun exposure, they completely deprive their body of sunlight, which is essential for natural production of vitamin D.
