Job Description:

  • Creates and nurtures practical network. (with Supply Chain, Technology, Legal & Regulatory departments) that foster teamwork and empowerment to strategically manage micro requirements
  • Participate, Engages Site, Division and Manufacturing and Technology Management as necessary to provide appropriate leadership and resources to ensure full conformance to the Quality and Micro Control Standards
  • Participate in the development of new products and process changes. Understands the linkages and interdependencies between the Product Development and Supply Chain processes (Tech Transfer).
  • Ensure requirements for Product Safety and Stability are built into new products during development or process changes.
  • Work with product developers to find solutions that meet microbiological and product needs.

  • Determine microbiological specifications for raw materials and finished products.
  • Provide microbiological support to Operations and Corporate Quality as required. Work through issues as they arise using problem solving techniques.
  • Involve others as needed to resolve issues.
  • Advise and assist plants in implementing microbiology related Standards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply continuous improvement tools to affect positive change (MSI, CPM, etc.)
  • Provide technical expertise to Regional microbiology laboratories.
  • Advise and guide Regional laboratories on methods, techniques and quality systems. Conduct training of staff where required.
  • Conduct audits of laboratories and work with laboratories on continuous improvement.
  • Plan and carry out projects/ experimental work in order to make recommendations to the business
  • Deliver defined project/experiment outcomes.
  • Clear account of investigation with solutions or recommendations for next steps. Provides direction for improving microbiological control in the entire site facility
  • Participate in audits of ingredients and packaging suppliers.
  • Provide microbiological expertise to support Enhanced Supplier Management Audits & highlight microbiological concerns during audits.
  • Participate in follow up audits if required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Science or above with major in Microbiology (or equivalent).
  • Required skill(s): Standard QA testing (contamination checks, preservative effectiveness, identification systems) microbiological safety and spoilage.
  • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably Senior Executives specializing in Science & Technology/Laboratory or equivalent. Job role in Researcher/Scientist or equivalent.
  • 1 Full-Time position(s) available.
