Post: Clinical Pharmacologist

Job Description:
Work closely with MDRI Medical Director and Director of Operations to ensure execution of protocols according to highest clinical research methodology and scientific standards
Work closely with MDRI Director of Operations to ensure understanding of the protocol and associated science by all study personnel
Function as the key scientific representative of MDRI in business development activities and interactions with potential sponsors and partners
Oversee scientific assessment of protocols submitted to MDRI for execution including assessment of pre-clinical data relevant to the products under investigation
Confer with MDRI Medical Director in the screening and approval of all protocols to be executed at MDRI
Provide input on study design and methodology for investigator-initiated and industry-initiated protocols at MDRI
Assist MDRI Medical Director in applying high standards of scientific oversight to all protocols executed at MDRI

Oversee scientific aspects of responses to IRB, regulatory, and sponsor-related queries
Assist MDRI Medical Director in providing response to audit, monitoring, and inspection queries
Function as MDRI science liaison representative with other Medanta clinical research activities and operations including late-phase clinical research, didactic and PR activities
Ensure safety of study participants
Attend all regular MDRI meetings
Support MDRI collaboration efforts with other POC units of the Duke POC Network

Candidate Profile:

Fluent in English

Qualification:
Degree in Clinical Pharmacology from an accredited institution preferred Ph.D. Completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training within the past 2 years with strong working knowledge of regulations, especially Indian GCP, Schedule ‘Y’, and ICMR Ethical Guidelines.

Experience:
At least 5 years experience working as clinical pharmacologist in early-phase, proof-of-concept (POC) type units or their equivalent (e.g., Bioavailability/bioequivalence [BA/BE] units).

Other Activities:
In addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities, the Clinical Pharmacologist is expected to: Initiate and participate in research education and training activities. Initiate and participate in quality and process improvement activities at MDRI. Be involved in original research projects conducted at MDRI.
