International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research (ISPOR) India Andhra Pradesh Regional Chapter was approved and established in June 14, 2012; under the leadership of Dr. Y. Padmanabha Reddy (President – ISPOR India AP Regional Chapter) comprising of 274 members. The Chapter focuses on developing a new approach of pharmacy practice education from a regular curriculum wise teaching to an actual healthcare orientation / health outcome-based training to maintain and improve patient’s quality of life and adhere to rationality use of medications. The chapter has organized two international conference and seven national conferences within a span of 6 years which is well appreciated by all professional bodies of pharmacy profession and ISPOR. The branch adages constant and novel contribution towards the evidence-based learning, teaching, practice and research in pharmacy profession with global standards.

The Himachal Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research also known as HIPER is situated in the district of Nadaun - about 500 meters from the National Highway of Himachal Pradesh and close to the bank of River Beas. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.  The ICMR has always attempted to address itself to the growing demands of scientific advances in biomedical research on the one hand, and to the need of finding practical solutions to the health problems of the country, on the other. The ICMR has come a long way from the days when it was known as the IRFA, but the Council is conscious of the fact that it still has miles to go in pursuit of scientific achievements as well as health targets.

The mandate of research at NCBS is the study of biology. To realize our goals of understanding living systems, we understand that research problems need to be approached from a variety of directions. We therefore have recruited, and actively encourage applications from researchers with a variety of backgrounds in the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science.  Biological problems not only require multiple approaches for their solution, but also need researchers of varied expertise to collaborate. Collaboration at every level within NCBS, within the country and internationally is strongly encouraged. Our research groups are small and with specific strengths that make interactions with complementary groups fruitful.

ADBS is an exciting collaborative and interdisciplinary program which is expected to provide a strong stimulus to research in stem cell biology in India, while building enduring research links between NCBS, inStem and the partner institutions NIMHANS and CiRA, Japan. Key focus areas for this integrated program will be the use of stem cells in research, diagnostics and therapeutics and the creation of a pool of Indian scientists who can work on stem cell technology.
