Sarada Vilas Educational Institution dates back to 1861, when it had a glorious beginning, with its founder the illustrious Rao Bahadur Bakshi Narasappa starting in Mysore city a school called  Sarada Vilas Patashala to teach Sanskrit with the Royal patronage of His Higness, the Late Maharaja Sri Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. The National Dope Testing Laboratory has been established as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India for undertaking human sports dope testing & allied research thereon.
