The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is the country's premier national Institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It has served the cause of science and society with distinction through first rate research, generation of appropriate technologies and development of human resources. In fact, the Green Revolution was born in the fields of IARI and our graduates constitute the core of the quality human resource in India's agricultural research and education.

Applications are invited for the posts of two Senior Research Fellows and one RA position in the DBT funded project entitled “Translational research on root knot Nematode tolerant RNAi transgenics based on vital parasite gene targets from validation to proof-of-concept to selection of event(s) in the field under confined conditions”. The project is for a period of three years.

Post: Senior Research Fellows, Research Associate

Essential qualifications for SRF: M. Sc. (First class) with two years experience in Nematology / Botany / Zoology / Plant Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences/ Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry. Experience in general molecular biology and tissue culture techniques.

Essential qualifications for Research Associate: MSc with three years experience or Ph.D in Nematology / Botany / Zoology / Plant Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences/ Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry. Experience in general molecular biology and plant transformation techniques

Desirable: Working knowledge of bioinformatics and gene cloning

Age limit: 35 years maximum (5 year relaxation for SC/ST and women candidates)

Emoluments: SRF: Rs. 14,000 + 30% HRA. Res Assoc: Rs 24,000 + 30% HRA

The post is purely temporary in nature and is co-terminus with the project. The appointment would be initially for one year and may be extended further upon satisfactory performance. Those who are interested in pursuing Ph.D with strong research aptitude are preferred.

Short-listed candidates will be called for interview at New Delhi. However, no TA and DA will be paid for attending the interview.
