Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous, grant-in-aid research institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Goverment of India. It was established in 1946 by the Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science as MACS Research Institute and renamed as ARI in 1992 in honour and memory of its founder Director, late Professor S.P. Agharkar.

Funding Agency & title of the Project: JRF under ARI Project “Environment friendly synthesis of biomolecules” CHEM-09 (Period up to 31.03.2012). and SRF under ICMR Project `Quality Standards of selected Indian Medicinal Plants and preparation of monographs thereof’ (SP-172-period up to 15.04.2012)

Qualifications
(a) for Junior Research Fellow (CHEM-09)
Essential: (1) 1st class M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry/  Analytical Chemistry & (2) CSIR-UGC JRF clearance.


Desirable: Experience in Synthetic Chemistry & Biochemistry.

(b) for Senior Research Fellow (SP-172)
Essential: 1st Class M.Sc. in Organic OR Analytical Chemistry with at least 2 years research experience in organic chemistry.

Desirable: research experience in Organic Chemistry

Monthly stipend: JRF-Rs.12000/- + HRA, SRF-Rs.20000/- + HRA

Age limit: JRF-28 years & SRF-30 years, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/female candidates

Last date for submission of prescribed application: 10.10.2011 up to 05.00 p.m.

List of short listed candidates on website: Will be displayed on Institute gocvernwebsite on 12.10.2011

Date & time of WALK-IN-INT.: 14th October 2011 at 02.00 p.m. at the address mentioned above.

In case of non-availability of qualified SRF/JRF as above, candidates having M.Sc. (as above) may be considered for Research Studentship on stipend @ Rs.11000/- (fixed) p.m. [Code: SRF-JRF/CHEM-09-SP-172]

Short listed candidates should attend the walk-in-interview on the date and time mentioned above.  No T.A. will be admissible for attending the walk-in-interview.

In case number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the candidates.  The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for walk-in-interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
