Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous, grant-in-aid research institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Goverment of India. It was established in 1946 by the Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science as MACS Research Institute and renamed as ARI in 1992 in honour and memory of its founder Director, late Professor S.P. Agharkar.

Qualifications :
For Project BIO-01: Essential:(i)1st class M.Sc. in Biometry & Nutrition / Health Sciences /  Biochemistry, (ii) Clearance of CSIR-UGC/NET.  Desirable: Work experience in research project related to experimental nutrition. Work involves handling of experimental animals and laboratory experience.


For Project SP-191: Essential: (i) 1st class M.Sc. with Analytical/ Inorganic Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology and (ii) Clearance of CSIR-UGC/NET.

Monthly stipend : JRF-Rs.12000/- (fixed) + HRA, RS-Rs.11000/- (fixed)  

Age limit : 28 years (5/3 yrs. relaxation for SC&ST/OBC candidates).
Last date for receipt  of application : 16.07.2012 up to 17.00 hrs.
List of short listed candidates on website : Will be displayed on Institute website by 18.07.2012 and/ or, candidates will be informed through e-mail.
Date & time of WALK-IN-INT : 20.07.2012 at 10.30 a.m.,


Note: No T.A. is admissible for attending interview and selected candidate will have no right of appointment against any ARI or funding agency’s post.

Candidates fulfilling above conditions may apply in the prescribed format available on the Institute’s website http://www.aripune.org., alongwith attested copies of qualifications, certificates, Passport size photograph, caste certificate issued by competent authority (for reserved category) and application fee of Rs.50/-, payable by Demand Draft only  in favor of Agharkar Research Institute, Pune,up to 16.07.2012.  The prescribed essential qualifications are bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidate to be called for interview.  In case number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the candidates.  The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.  Applicants are requested to refer the General Conditions available on Institute’s website, before applying.
