Visva Bharati, a Central University and an institution of national importance invites application for the following faculty position.
Post: Associate Professor
Qualification:
Specialization in Pharmacognosy and Anatomy/Pteridology.
A. General Conditions for these Recruitments:
1. * “Good academic record” shall mean “securing on an average at least 55% marks in all examinations taken together prior to Master’s degree viz. Secondary Class & Higher Secondary (10 + 2) or equivalent and Honours degree stage. However, 55% marks at Master’s degree level is mandatory as per UGC norms”.
2. Visva-Bharati reserves the right not to fill up the vacancy if circumstances so warrant. Selection for the posts may not be confined only to candidates who apply formally.
3. Essential qualifications prescribed are the minimum and mere possession of them will not entitle applicants to be called in for interview. If the number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large and it is not convenient for the University to interview all the applicants, the number of candidates for interview may be restricted to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience.
4. Qualification and experience may be relaxed at the discretion of the University. Relaxation in age and percentage of marks will be allowed, as per rules/orders, to candidates belonging to reserved categories. 5% relaxation in marks(from 55% to 50%) may be provided to Ph.D. Degree holders, who obtained Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
5. Selected candidates will be given M.Phil and Ph. D increments as per rules.
6. Candidates already in employment shall apply through proper channel (or submit formal ‘No Objection Certificate’ during interview, if called for), and also submit release order at the time of joining Visva-Bharati’s service, if appointed. They may however send an advance copy of the application.
7. Counting of past service will not be allowed if applications are not received through proper channel.
8. Selection/appointment/employment will be subject to fulfilment of required qualification, experience etc as also to verification of testimonials, antecedents and past service. If is found at any stage that any information has been suppressed or wrongly/falsely provided or any fraud has been committed, the application/appointment/employment of the concerned applicant will be rejected/cancelled/terminated summarily.
9. Selected candidates have to reside within the territorial jurisdiction of the University as declared in the Visva-Bharati Act, 1951.
10. Applicants selected for appointment may be required to go through police verification before or after joining.
11. Candidates must fulfil essential qualification/ experience on the date of application. All qualifications must have been obtained from recognized University/Institute only.
12. Candidates called for interview but staying abroad may attend interview through SKYPE.

b) By hand: Available from same office, on submission of Cash Coupon of required value purchased from Cash Section, Accounts Office, and Santiniketan of the University.

Note: IPO/M O / e-transfer/ CRFS/ postage stamp/ revenue stamp etc will not be accepted.
C. Application fee (non refundable) :
(a) For posts with AGP of Rs. 9000/- & 10,000/- : Rs. 800/-
(b) For posts with AGP of Rs. 6000/- :Rs. 400/-
SC/ST candidates shall pay only 25% of the above application free. Physically handicapped candidates (handicapped 40% or above) are exempted from paying fee. Attested copy of certificate issued by appropriate authority is to be submitted for such concession/exemption.
D. Submission of forms, last date and other Information:
(a) (i) Duly filled-in original application form (ii) 12(twelve) photo copies of filled-in form,(iii) one set of attested photo-copies of testimonials/certificates and (iv) two recent passport size photographs (non-returnable) signed in full (at the bottom), by the candidate, should reach the above address within last date of application.
(b) Attestation can be done by a Gazetted/ Group-A Officer of Central/ State Gov’t or Dean/ Director/ Proctor/ Principal/ Registrar/ Head of Department/ Group-A officer of a recognized University/ College or Principal/ Head Master of a recognized and affiliated high school.
(c) Application forms, not properly filled in or incomplete in any respect, will be rejected without any reference. Canvassing in any form is strictly forbidden
(d) Application sent by post/currier must be super scribed with adv’t number and name of post. Separate applications must be made for each post.
(e) Applicants are advised to read the advertisement very carefully and to ensure that they fulfil all essential and additional/desirable qualifications/experience.
