Job Description:
Project Management – New Products
1. Develop business case for new product development and launch

  • Drive business case presentation (Business Plan and/or EMBR) and approval with relevant stakeholders
  • Work with Marketing & Sales and/or Supply Chain to evaluate new products for desired gross margins, division margins and market share

2. Project-manage new product development to achieve a 8-12 month ‘ideation to launch’ speed for local projects and innovations, Drive implementation across cross-functional team including R&D, Supply Chain and Commercial – Sales & marketing, medical, regulatory, legal and finance

  • Coordinate multi-functional input, evaluate different options and drive team to make decisions related to new products
  • Work with marketing, medical, R&D, Supply Chain and Finance teams to ensure that the cross-functional team/representative considers relevant customer insights in developing the product concept and creating target product profile based on our desired positioning and claim. Ensure that the product is designed to meet the desired cost and value criteria
  • Monitor the project through different stages and de-bottleneck any issues to ensure signed-off milestones are met
  • Work with Supply Chain on different aspects including demand planning, QA, clearances and dispatch for FLTS

3. Work with Supply Chain to ensure timely TPM identification, qualifications, set-up and initial product development support


4. For global projects, work with global teams to launch products in India timelines, within the broader Abbott standards

5. Provide necessary post-launch support to ensure launch stability

6. MIS and project tracking

  • Update diligently and share project progress regularly with teams
  • Report progress for related presentations, meetings and NPI updates
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and efficiency parameters for monthly review and ensure compliance with NPI process.
  • Ensure effective information sharing with Affiliates, Management and all functional areas

Project Management – Strategy
1. Drive high-priority projects critical to business growth and development (e.g., margin optimization, sales acceleration, strategic deals, India governance model); will require working closely with GM, SLT members and cross-functional teams to drive requisite change and generate impact for the projects
2. Drive strategic partnerships with external partners for manufacturing and other areas as needed
3. Collaborate with regional and global teams, as needed, for the above
4. Ensure timely reporting of critical business updates to region and division working with business unit and functional heads, as needed

Qualification:
Science Graduate. Post Graduation in Science, MBA preferred
Experience in project Management
Preferably, domain expertise in nutrition and/or food products, with ability to drive trade-off discussions with different teams (inc. product development, medical, supply chain)
