The Hilleman Laboratories are based in NCR, India. The Hilleman Labs is registered as SCS Pharma. The Hilleman laboratories over the next 2 years plans to have a staff of approximately 40 scientists fully engaged in R&D of vaccines.

Post: Senior Scientist / Team Leader (Formulation)

Job Description:
They seek senior scientific leaders with specific experience in formulation of vaccines and/or biologics for their organization based in the NCR region. The individual needs to possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of biochemistry principles and procedures, and lead projects which are aligned with the organizations vision and mission – developing thermostable, affordable, easy to deliver vaccines for the developing world. The individual will serve as a group leader for a set of scientists to develop a candidate vaccine from preclinical stage to Phase II clinical manufacturing.
The individual will work in a team-based environment, and lead the development of formulations for a candidate vaccine. The formulation process development work requires evaluation of excipients, bulking agents and buffers for vaccine antigens which will result in a thermostable dry product. The work entails evaluation of various formulation-focused properties of the antigen, strong understanding of biochemistry to understand interactions of the antigen with its environment, evaluation of various drying technologies, and development of delivery systems for the candidate vaccine.
Result oriented individual required, with the ability to work independently, and achieve objectives in a timely manner. The individual needs to have the ability to manage more than one complex task with regular project updates and de-bottlenecking to reach objectives in a timely fashion. The individual will need to be able to conduct complex technical investigations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills required along with scientific acumen to resolve complex technical issues. They are seeking goal-oriented individual with ability to think independently and achieve objectives with available resources. Interaction with various technology providers and customers across the globe is required. The job will require travel. The job may require work in various shifts.
The individual should have a strong scientific background, a doctorate degree in biochemistry/biotechnology/related field, and at least 7 years of relevant industrial experience. At least 3 years of specific experience in the biologics formulation area is required.
